Interview Summary and Source Discriptions

For my interview I decided to interview my uncle Joe Baum. He is currently the head of engineering at Ford in Detroit, Michigan. He has been with the company for 26 years and has worked his way up from the bottom. He was able to give me insight on all levels of the company and how his job change at each level.

Currently, his job requires him to send lots of emails to people of different levels to discuss current issues or problems that might be occuring on projects. These emails require lots of delicate work to make sure all details are precise and that they are ok from a legal standpoint as the deal with a lot of secret information. He also informed me what makes the dest and worst emails. A lot of the emails have way to much detail and don't get to the point. He does believe that details are important, but likes emails that include key details and information in the first couple of sentences followed by the details.
For my other sources I chose three articles from a recent  journal to show the academic side of writing. These articles are a great example of the word usage and format of academic engineering writing. For my non academic writing I will use three work reports from NASA. These will show the style for everyday work in the engineering field.
