The Art of Quoting

I chose to take a look at an essay I wrote for a high school english class about what American values mean to me and how they have impacted society and made the USA the greatest country on earth. In this essay  I feel i did a good job with my quote integration. I used phrases like it has been scientifically proven to lead into the factual evidence of my essay.
It has been scientifically proven that “that acute stress may actually lead to greater cooperative, social, and friendly behavior, even in men” (Sepal). This quote is also very relevant to the point that I am trying to portray because it tells how overcoming challenges improves mental and social capacity. Later on in the essay I use quotations a different way to support my argument. I take the values Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. held most valuable,  Dr. King was raised on the values of “integrity, love, truth, fairness, caring, non-violence, achievement and peace” (The History), and compare them to the values that we as Americans hold near and dear. Using different varieties of quotes and in different ways helps keep the readers interested and conveys a more powerful message.
